 EMERGENCY AVOIDING TIPS:

GET A SPARE CAR KEY !
If you have a spare key and lose one,  it can always be replaced at
your convenience.  If you lose the only key you have,  a locksmith will
most likely need to come to the vehicle.  This will increase the cost of
replacing the key.  If it happens to be at night or on a weekend the cost
could be higher.  Many newer vehicle models use a transponder key.
Sometimes called computer or chip keys.
This system uses a  transmitter embedded in the key.

REPLACE WORN KEYS !
If your key is worn or bent it is more likely to break.  Have it replaced
as soon as possible. A broken key can be more costly than a lost key.
Especially if the key breaks off inside the ignition lock cylinder.

AVOID DUPLICATE KEYS !
Most hardware and home stores duplicate keys. This involves tracing
the outline of your key onto a new key blank.  This procedure is not very

accurate and produces a copy that is only close to the original. If your
key is badly worn, a copy will be worse.  At City Auto Locksmith, we
never duplicate keys.  All keys are cut from code

to the manufacturers original specifications.

LOCKS SHOULD TURN EASILY !
if your key is difficult to insert or remove,  or you sometimes have to
move the key before it turns, the lock may need service or repair.
A sticking
ignition lock will only get worse
and may eventually result in being stranded.
